WHAT IS mentoring for professionals?
Getting a job in a new country can be extremely tricky. Even if you are highly qualified in your chosen field, you may find it harder than expected to secure employment without local knowledge, experience, or contacts.
With our professional mentoring programme, we hope to help international candidates boost their job search and integrate into the Swiss job market.
What is SIVO’s professional mentoring programme?
In collaboration with Job Integration for Foreigners (JIFF), we run a mentoring programme to help qualified international professionals integrate into the local job market.
Our mentees are international residents looking for work. SIVO matches these mentees with a mentor who is more established in Switzerland, who can use their relevant experience to help the mentee pursue their career goals.
Our mentor-mentee pairs agree on a time commitment and a duration for their participation — usually around two hours per month for about six months. They then spend this time working towards a particular goal (e.g. helping the mentee find employment in their desired field).
HOW can I join the programme?
If you’d like to join our programme as a mentor or a mentee, please get in touch at mentoring-programme@sivo.ch.
