What is Corporate Volunteering?
More and more companies want to enable their employees to devote part of their time to voluntary work. As well as being a great way to give back to charities and/or the local community, we believe corporate volunteering can support the integration of international professionals coming to Switzerland. Participants acquire new social, professional, and local language skills and can make a positive contribution to society in their new country.
Corporate volunteering refers to groups of employees taking part in social activities on a voluntary basis. Employees may support a particular non-profit organisation (NPO) or a local initiative within the community.

SIVO AND CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING
SIVO has been facilitating corporate volunteering programmes in Central Switzerland since 2017. We act as a bridge between NPOs looking for support and companies wanting to help. We help companies identify specific volunteering opportunities for their employees, share best practices, and facilitate communication between private organisations and NPOs.
EF Education First
Since the start of our collaboration in 2016, we have worked together with the staff at EF to provide over 300 Christmas shoeboxes. The contents and boxes, including the gifts for the adults and children, were donated by company employees.
Johnson & Johnson
In September 2019, we supported Johnson & Johnson in organising a baking day at a local centre for asylum seekers. Around 10 employees and several SIVO volunteers spent a great day meeting and cooking with residents at the centre.
MSD SWITZERLAND
With our help, MSD spread the Christmas spirit at one of the asylum seekers’ centres in 2018 by donating 43 Christmas shoeboxes and 117 gifts for adults. Each shoebox was filled with toys and practical items for children and teenagers.
